Job Description
The Groundworks position is responsible for preparing construction sites for building projects. This includes excavation, leveling, and laying foundations.
Responsibilities
- Perform excavation and grading tasks using heavy equipment such as bulldozers and excavators
- Clear and prepare construction sites by removing debris, trees, and other obstacles
- Install drainage systems and underground utilities
- Lay and compact soil, gravel, and other materials to create a solid foundation for buildings
- Collaborate with other construction workers and contractors to ensure a smooth workflow
Qualifications
- Previous experience in construction or a related field
- Knowledge of operating heavy equipment and tools used in groundworks
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Strong physical endurance and ability to work in various weather conditions
Must have a CSCS card
